Not only are we in a climate crisis, but trees are key pillars of the world for both humans and the environment. They benefit us by purifying water, air and creating better social conditions. They benefit the environment by providing homes for various forms of life, cooling our climate and improving our soil. I’ve chosen some plantation projects which I think reflect Coterie’s ethos, two in Madagascar and Tanzania, one in Nepal called the Eden Projects, and one in India ‘Tigers for Trees’. All help to improve local livelihoods and restore forests in areas of critical importance, helping to protect and recreate a reforested buffer zone that is vital to protect animal habitat. As well as helping Coterie work towards a more sustainable economy.
